As I've mentioned, Brennan really doesn't like bearing weight on his legs. He will either lift his legs up or push his bottom toward the ground whenever we try to put him in a standing position. And putting him on hands and knees is impossible - he uses every Houdini move possible to get himself and keep himself out of this position. So, last week his physical therapist brought this lovely wooden contraption (which she calls "the stander") for Brennan to use.

Well he's dang cute standing in the stander!
Interesting contraption. Maybe he'll get used to it and will catch on to the idea. :-) He's soooo cute!
Whatever works, right?!? He is darn cute in that thing :)!!! Good luck!
I agree with Wendy - he is "so dang cute standing in the stander" :) i will have to figure out how to get a "stander" for whitney, she feels the same as Brennan about "weight bearing"!
my hubby and i have recently said "watch what you wish for because you just might get it..." Not that I wouldnt want the very best for our kids.....but once they go.....there is no stopping them. We look back at the days we could set tucker in one spot and there he was when we came back...not anymore. He goes and goes and goes....climbing on everything, almost running....all the things we wanted/hoped/prayed and worked for. Brennan is a cutie! Once he gets it, figures out he can reach things that are Pretty and not to touch....he will be all over.....
Hm...does he care for the Jumperoo or exersaucer at all? D wouldn't put weight on his legs either until I started putting him in the Jumperoo...
I agree with everyone - he certainly looks cute in that thing!! : )
What a cutie. The stander looks like it would definately help with the weight bearing, but how to keep him distracted while he is in it? I have to admit I am a bit jealous that your therapst actually brought equipement for you to use. Obviously your therapist works with Brennan. Ours will only coach us to work with our son.
Hey, whatever it takes! I know how you feel though. Getting Jack in a 4 point position was so hard and he fought us all the way and then one day it started getting a little easier. It will come for Brennan too. He will be standing and crawling before you know it and you'll find it hard to remember when he wasn't standing and crawling!!! And on a therapy note...looks like you have a great PT...coming to your house and handy contraptions!
